Artist Spotlight: Acrylic and Airbrush Artist Glenn Davidson

Acrylic and airbrush artist Glenn Davidson never thought he would be a painter. “I used to hate painting in school but I loved to draw.  Drawing was cheaper, portable, and most of all forgiving”.

As a full time fork lift driver at Dart Container, Glenn has to savor what very little time he has each day to work on his art and continue developing his craft. “I mostly pick up what I can by learning from others and whatever else I can get my hands on”.

Raised by his Dad, he recalls how supportive his father was of his artistic endeavors. “He bought me my first painting set and I started painting everything that inspired me.”  Like most, Glenn had taken a few art classes in High School, as well as in college but was most intrigued by Bob Ross’s “Joy of Painting” series and knew at once he wanted to try his hand at painting. He worked with oil paints which helped bring some very good elements to his paintings, but yet still maintained too cartoonish for his taste, which began to discourage Glenn.

He eventually began airbrushing and was amazed at how much easier it was for him, as it was somewhat similar to drawing. It allowed him to apply more details and add more of the effects he struggled with for so many years as an oil painter.
Glenn soon realized that reinventing his love of drawing through the application of paint using the airbrush made it so much easier and the results, well you can see for yourself…
